Strawberries and Champagne

I know, this pairing is cliche (and a little cheesy)… but it’s a classic for a reason. It’s delicious. The strawberries lace the drink with sweetness, and the bubbles in the champagne turn the strawberries into juicy, sumptuous morsels. 

For each glass of champagne, smash two strawberries with the heel of your hand. Remove the leaves, and pull the strawberries apart with your fingers. Drop into the glass and pour the champagne over. It’s perfection.

I cannot wait for Valentines Day. Gus’ 21st birthday is February 13. I’m buying champagne this year! (And he’s a sucker for strawberries.)
